The optical fiber is mounted in a long thin cylinder called a ferrule with a hole sized to match the fiber cladding diameter. The ferrule is mounted within the connector body, which is attached to the cable structure. The strain-relief boot shields the junction of the connector body and the cable.<br>

Swiss Screw Machining

Swiss turning machines were first established in Switzerland for producing fine watch components for the Swiss watch industry. With the start of the watch making industry in Suwa, Japan, these Swiss turning machines were imported into Japan. The first automatic lathes imported into Japan were cam actuated lathes or swiss type automatic screw machines. With shortening product cycles and lead times, CNC swiss turning centers have gradually replaced the swiss type automatic screw machines in Suwa too.

Carbide Die Design Services

Our chief tool and die designer has been designing and manufacturing stamping tool and die in Singapore since 1987. Our CAD station uses ExcessPro which provides dxf and iges format files. Our die design advantages are that we cut cost through incorporating secondary processes into the die - example is in die tapping using gewinde former. In-die tapping increases productivity and improves tapping quality, as it avoids the need for time-consuming, labour intensive secondary operations such as tapping and setting welded or crimped nuts. Work with the product designer in product engineering of the part. Input this into the die design. Design tool for automation line - we have done many such jobs for the semiconductor industry.

Information on materials such as tool steels and tungsten carbide for making press toolings. Tool steels may be either carbon or alloy steels. Steels in the lower carbon content (0.7-0.9%) are used for tools subject to shock, and higher carbon content tool steels (1.1-1.3%) are used for making tools with keen cutting edges. Cemented carbide used for making dies has 12-20% cobalt.

Resource on Power Transfer in Motors using Gears and Spline Shafts

In those power transfer methods that require attaching one shaft to another, such as motor-mounted gearboxes driving a separate output shaft, shaft couplers and flexible drives are used to deal with misalignment and vibration. The solid shaft couplers must be strong enough to hold the shafts` end together as if they were one shaft. The flexible couplers allow for misalignment and are used where the two shafts might be slightly out of alignment.
