used for sliding members in the automotive industry. Involute-Form SplinesThese involute-form
splines are used to transmit high loads. The splines can be parallel or
helical. Involute-Form Splines in Compound PinionsWe can make special
involute splines by using the gear tooth proportions. A compound pinion
is shown here made by cropping the smaller pinion teeth and internally
