General Characteristics of Ceramic Balls

Ceramic balls are particularly suited for use in extremely harsh environment where high temperatures, corrosive and erosive substances are present.

Types of Ceramic Balls

Alumina Oxide Al2O3- proven performance in high wear, heat and corrosive environments. Dimensional stability up to 1400°C. Resists oxidation and tolerant to water, salt solutions and many chemicals and acids. Compressive strength more than 300K psi. Hardness 1700 Hv density 3.87g/cm3.

Zirconia ZrO2 - 2 to 3 times operational life of metal and carbide in certain applications. Dimensional stability up to 2400°C. Superior in corrosive and erosive environments. Compressive strength 285K psi. Hardness 80-83 Ra density 5.6g/cm3.

Silicon nitride Si3N4 - Silicon Nitride balls are ceramic balls engineered for high precision applications in high speed hybrid bearing, miniature high speed bearing, aerospace and defense industries. Dimensional stability up to 1000°C. Compressive strength 570K psi. Hardness 1400-1700 Hv density 3.22g/cm3.
